2014 Person of Vision Award Recipients Announced
Prevent Blindness Names Bob Shyer and Henry Shyer, Zyloware Eyewear, as 2014 Person of Vision Award Recipients
CHICAGO (Oct. 29, 2013)–Prevent Blindness, the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight, has chosen Zyloware Eyewear’s Bob Shyer, chairman, and Henry Shyer, vice chairman, as 2014 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award Recipients. The awards will be presented at the Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Dinner on March 27, 2014 at the New York Palace, New York, N.Y.
The Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award recognizes an individual or corporation for outstanding leadership and dedication in the field of vision and eye health. Zyloware Eyewear is the oldest independent family owned frame supplier in the United States. Bob and Henry Shyer were chosen because of their contributions to the vision industry and for continuing their family legacy and business which now spans ten of decades.
The co-chairpersons of the 2014 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Committee are Zyloware’s Chris Shyer, president, and Jamie Shyer, chief operating officer. Dave Pierson, chief executive officer of Refac, will serve as honorary co-chairperson. Individual tickets may be purchased for $350 or $3,500 for a table of 10.
Sponsorship opportunities are now available. Early sponsorship commitments have been received by Refac and National Vision, Inc. All proceeds from the event will go to support the sight-saving programs from Prevent Blindness.
