Volunteer
Do you enjoy helping those in need?
Through our Vision Outreach program, PBGA visits homeless shelters and medical centers throughout the state to provide eye care to those in need. Volunteers are trained to register and vision screen clients. Vision clinic volunteers must enjoy working with people, and must have a large dose of patience and compassion.
Children's Vision Screenings
Do you enjoy working with children?
PBGA screens more than 30,000 prekindergarten children each year. Volunteers are needed weekday mornings at schools and childcare centers throughout the state to assist certified vision screeners in conducting early detection vision screenings. Patience and a love for children are important characteristics for children's vision screening volunteers.
Join Us at the Office
Do you enjoy an office environment?
PBGA needs volunteers to help us at the office. Tasks may include preparing packets, in addition to computer research. Volunteering at the PBGA office provides the perfect opportunity to get involved in a way that fits your schedule.
Special Events & Fundraisers
PBGA hosts several special and fundraising events each year throughout the state. Come join the fun by attending or volunteering at one of these unforgettable events. Volunteers must be able to work in a high speed environment and multi-task.
Story Writing
Are you a strong writer? Do you want to build your portfolio? One of PBGA's missions is to educate Georgians about eye health and safety. A way that we accomplish this is through stories about adults and children with vision issues who have been impacted by Prevent Blindness Georgia. With your help, these stories can be shared with all Georgians.
