Corporate Vision Screenings

Did you know?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Department of Labor, reports that eye injuries in the workplace cost over $467 million annually in lost production time, medical expenses, and workers compensation? Indirect costs such as legal fees, judgments, and training of replacement workers puts the true cost above $934 million annually!

What you can do for your organization!

Prevent Blindness Ohio is committed to working with the business community to ensure that all Ohioans have good sight for life. We do this through promotion and services for early detection of possible vision problems and educating people about how to keep their sight safe and healthy for a lifetime. Early detection is essential in reducing the number of workplace injuries due to reduced or impaired vision as well as controlling vision loss due to diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration. Early detection also saved employers time and money through a consistently strong and productive workforce.

Prevent Blindness Ohio provides a complete continuum of care, from the initial screening of your employees to eye exams and glasses in the event they are unable to access these services. Prevent Blindness Ohio can also provide training and certification in a nationally recognized adult vision screening training program for the staff of the corporate center. We are also able to provide educational materials and brochures that you can have on hand for your employees. Samples of the materials we can provide include: Eye Safety Questions at Work; Computers and Your Eyes; First Aid for Eye Emergencies; and Spanish language materials, too!

The mission of Prevent Blindness Ohio is to Prevent Blindness and Preserve Sight, allowing all Ohioans to enjoy good sight for life! If you would like to have a vision screening in your workplace, please contact Prevent Blindness Ohio’s Community Services Department at 1-800-301-2020.
