With PBA-RSS, you can take Prevent Blindness news from around the country, free of charge, for individual, non-commercial use and incorporate it into your news reader or web log.
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for distributing information. Prevent Blindness America offers an RSS feed that include headlines, summaries and links back to Prevent Blindness America’s website, www.preventblindness.org, for the full article. Prevent Blindness America currently uses RSS 2.0.
How to Use PBA-RSS
To view the PBA-RSS News Feed, you will need an RSS news reader or news aggregator. Once you subscribe, your news reader will automatically retrieve updates from PBA, allowing you to stay current with important PBA news and information.
There are many different news readers available. Many are available free of charge. Some news readers are applications that you download and install. Some readers, for example Yahoo (my.yahoo.com) and Google (www.google.com/reader) are web-based service you sign-up for that work inside your browser.
After setting up your news reader, you will be ready to use PBA-RSS. To subscribe to PBA-RSS, right-click on the orange "XML" button or the PBA Eye Health and Safety News Feed link and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" to copy the location (URL) of the service. Follow the instructions for your news reader, and then paste the URL location where your reader asks for subscription information. To add the PBA-RSS feed to your My Yahoo page, simply click the "My Yahoo" button.
