Job Description for:  Mgr, Special Events

Date:  March 11, 2014

Supervisor:  Vice President, Field Relations

A.    Meets revenue goals for each fundraising event (two Person of Vision galas & two golf events) in the fiscal year.

B.    Secure corporate and individual sponsorships as well as donations for each event. Steward and cultivate relations with donors.

C.    Plan, manage and implement each of our signature events according to the events timeline in collaboration with volunteer leaders, senior staff and the Director of Development.

D.    Communicate accurate, consistent and up-to-date event information.

E.    Coordinate necessary print, mailings, purchasing of signage, promotional items, awards, etc. for each event.

F.    Oversee fiscal management of events by maintaining accurate revenue and expense records for each event, including developing the event budgets.

G.    Recruit and supervise volunteers for each event committee.

H.    Assist in other fundraising and development department activities, as needed.

I.      Acts as a technical resource and consultant to affiliates in the area of financial development, with an emphasis on special events.
