Also, uveitis may be caused by another disease or condition that, if left untreated, can lead to serious illness. For some people, a diagnosis of uveitis is a first step in diagnosing and treating a life-threatening problem.
Eye doctors treat different kinds of uveitis very differently. The cause of uveitis may be very difficult for a doctor to discover, and in many cases the doctor will not be able to find a cause.
In some cases, discovery of the cause of uveitis may take many years as the individual is treated for chronic or recurrent uveitis.
