20th Annual Prevent Blindness North Carolina
Mixed Doubles Tennis Classic
August 4th-7th, 2011

Hosted By
MacGregor Downs Country Club
Cary, NC

Now entering its second decade, the Prevent Blindness Mixed Doubles Tennis Classic is the most well-received amateur tennis tournament in the Triangle. This year, on August 4th-7th, players and fans from area tennis clubs will participate in a weekend of great mixed doubles tennis in support of the mission of Prevent Blindness North Carolina – to prevent blindness, preserve and restore sight, and promote good vision for all North Carolinians. The event is hosted by MacGregor Downs Country Club; located at 430 Saint Andrews Lane in Cary.

This year’s honoree is Bobby Heald. Bobby is the tennis pro at MacGregor Downs Country Club, a longtime friend and advocate of Prevent Blindness North Carolina, and an influential member of the Triangle tennis community. Thursday night’s kickoff Patron Party will feature dinner, an exhibition match, and a raffle full of fabulous prizes. Tournament play will occur Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. All proceeds from this four day event will be used to benefit the programs and services of Prevent Blindness North Carolina. Sign up now for a weekend full of tennis excitement. For more information contact Joe Kimray, PBNC Development Coordinator at 1-800-543-7839 or [email protected].

The goal is to have an early warning system before vision loss occurs and the conditions become more challenging to manage.
