Prevent Blindness will be co-hosting the “Healthy Sight for Life: A Diabetes and Eye Health Fair,” in collaboration with the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness, The Chicago Lighthouse, the National Center for Children’s Vision and Eye Health at Prevent Blindness, and Visionarizm. This event is sponsored in part by Genentech.

Why

Because diabetes is a leading cause of vision loss and blindness in the United States, Prevent Blindness and its collaborating partners are offering a free event to educate the public on the crucial link between diabetes and eye health. The “Healthy Sight for Life: A Diabetes and Eye Health Fair” is open to the general public, including people living with diabetes and their families. Event activities include expert presentations on diabetes and eye health, eye health/vision screenings, a vision mural art project, a fashion show by a low vision artist, availability of mental health and vision resources, and more.
