Amy Pulles Selected to Succeed Retiring Sherry Williams as President & CEO of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness

Amy Pulles, President and CEO of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness to succeed Sherry Williams.

Amy Pulles, incoming President and CEO of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness, will succeed Sherry Williams, who is retiring on January 1, 2022.

The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness announced that Amy Pulles, VP of Prevent Blindness, Ohio Affiliate (PBO) will succeed Sherry Williams, its President & CEO upon her planned retirement on January 1, 2022.

Pulles has served PBO in a variety of leadership roles since 2014 including as its Development Coordinator, Director of Development, VP for Development and Field Services and most recently as Vice President of the organization.  Her prior work experience included positions with the Red Cross and League of Women Voters.

Williams served as PBO’s President & CEO since 1986 and helped establish the organization as a public health leader in vision and eye health. Under her leadership, the organization established 5 staffed Chapter offices serving all areas of Ohio, increased the reach of its sight-saving services to over 1 million Ohioans annually and established legislation creating a voluntary donation on Ohio motor vehicle registrations to support children’s vision programs statewide.

“The Prevent Blindness succession plan worked beautifully as it allowed Williams to mentor Pulles for several years to prepare her candidacy for the Board’s consideration,” said Carolyn King, Board Chair of the Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness. “Prevent Blindness is in excellent condition to build on our past successes and expand them to meet the challenges of the future.”
