New Directors Join Board

Prevent Blindness Elects Two New Members to Board of Directors

David P. LeCause and Darryl P. Lemecha Join Board at Spring Meeting

CHICAGO (March 7, 2016) – Prevent Blindness, the nation’s oldest volunteer eye health and safety organization, has announced that David P. LeCause, vice president, U.S. Eye Care for Allergan, Inc., and Darryl Lemecha, executive vice president and chief technology officer of VSP Global, have been elected to the Prevent Blindness Board of Directors.  The vote was held on March 5 at the 2016 spring Board of Directors meeting in St. Petersburg, Fla.

LeCause brings more than 25 years of experience in the U.S. Eye Care market to the Prevent Blindness Board of Directors. Prior to leading Allergan’s U.S. Eye Care commercial business unit, he served as Vice President, U.S. Eye Care Sales and as Region Director of U.S Therapeutics in the Eye Care division of Allergan, Inc. Today, LeCause uses his vast experience in sales management, marketing and strategic planning in the specialty pharmaceutical and biotech business in his role as Vice President at Allergan.  He is a graduate of Gettysburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting and Finance.  And, since 2005, has served on the Board of Trustees for Helen Keller International.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of VSP Global, Lemecha directs the delivery of solutions that optimize processes across VSP Global lines of business, with the goal of enhancing customer experience and advancing the eyecare industry.  Preceding his role with VSP Global, Lemecha served as COO of Eyefinity, a subsidiary of VSP Global where he directed product management, product engineering, business intelligence, and customer care organizations. Lamecha is also the co-Founder of eightCloud, Inc., a technology consulting business. He is a graduate of University of Manitoba – Canada, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
