Marge Axelrad to Receive Person of Vision Award

Prevent Blindness Names Marge Axelrad of Vision Monday/Jobson Optical Group, as 2017 Person of Vision Award Recipient

Prevent Blindness, the nation’s leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight, has chosen Marge Axelrad, senior vice president, editorial director at Vision Monday/Jobson Optical Group, as the recipient of the 2017 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award.  The award will be presented on March 30, 2017, at the Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Dinner at the Lotte New York Palace, New York City, in conjunction with Vision Expo East.

The Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award recognizes an individual or organization whose inspired outlook champions healthy vision and its importance for a healthy life.   Axelrad has had a long and distinguished career working with the vision care industry as well as being a founding member of the Optical Women’s Association. Based in New York, Axelrad oversees Jobson’s coverage of industry developments via Vision Monday, VMail, VisionMonday.com and VM’s Global Leadership Summit.

At Prevent Blindness, Axelrad has volunteered on a variety of committees including Marketing and Development as well as the Swing Fore Sight golf events and past Person of Vision Committees.  She also served on the Prevent Blindness Board of Directors for five years. Axelrad currently serves on the board of trustees of SUNY-Optometry’s Optometric Center of NY Foundation.

The chairperson of the 2017 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Committee is Marc Ferrara, CEO, Information Services Division of Jobson Medical Information.  All proceeds from the event will go to support the sight-saving programs from Prevent Blindness.
