At its annual membership meeting today, the National Health Council (NHC) elected its officers and Board of Directors members for 2024. Jeff Todd, President & Chief Executive Officer of Prevent Blindness, was named the Chair of the NHC Board of Directors for 2024. Other members of the Executive Committee are: Chair Elect Schroeder Stribling, President & Chief Executive Officer, Mental Health America; Vice Chair Michael Osso, President & Chief Executive Officer, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation; Secretary Sue Peschin, President & Chief Executive Officer, Alliance for Aging Research; Treasurer Harold Wimmer, National President & Chief Executive Officer, American Lung Association; and Immediate Past Chair Kenny Mendez, President & Chief Executive Officer, Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America.
“Jeff Todd is an excellent choice to lead our Board in 2024,” said Randall Rutta, the NHC’s Chief Executive Officer. “His experience, expertise and commitment to advancing equitable access to health care will serve us well as we navigate the complex political, societal, and technological changes that lie ahead for the patient communities we serve.”
Seven new members are joining the 2024 NHC Board of Directors: Charles Henderson, Chief Executive Officer, American Diabetes Association; Louise Vetter, President & Chief Executive Officer, Huntington’s Disease Society of America; Jorey Berry, President & Chief Executive Officer, Immune Deficiency Foundation; Kathryn G. Schubert, President & Chief Executive Officer, Society for Women’s Health Research; Michael Ybarra, MD, Chief Medical Officer, PhRMA; Sunita Mishra, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Amazon Health Services; and Michele M. Oshman, Vice President, External Affairs, Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO).
These new members join current Board members re-elected to new three-year terms: Mendez; Osso; Stribling; Wimmer; and Julie Gerberding, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Foundation for the National Institutes of Health.
