Prevent Blindness to Present 2014 Person of Vision Award, Will Honor Bob Shyer and Henry Shyer of Zyloware Eyewear
CHICAGO (Feb. 27, 2014)–Prevent Blindness, the nation’s leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight, will present the 2014 Person of Vision Award to Zyloware Eyewear’s Bob Shyer, chairman, and Henry Shyer, vice chairman at the Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Dinner on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the New York Palace, New York, N.Y. The event will be held in conjunction with Vision Expo East.
Bob and Henry Shyer were chosen as recipients of the Person of Vision Award because of their outstanding leadership and dedication in the field of vision and eye health. Zyloware Eyewear is the oldest independent family owned frame supplier in the United States.
Current event sponsors are Zyloware Eyewear as the Gold Sponsor, and HVHC (Davis Vision & Vision Works) as the Silver Sponsor. The Vision Council is serving as the Media Sponsor and Refac as the Reception Sponsor. Additional sponsors include Essilor, First Vision Media, Jobson, National Vision, Inc., Reed Exhibitions and Regeneron. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Individual tickets may still be purchased for $350 or $3,500 for a table of 10. All proceeds from the event will go to support the sight-saving programs of Prevent Blindness.
The co-chairpersons of the 2014 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Committee are Zyloware’s Chris Shyer, president, and Jamie Shyer, chief operating officer. Dave Pierson, chief executive officer of Refac, serves as honorary co-chairperson.
